In
April of 1982 the first Madison's opened its doors. After extensive
remodeling of an older facility in historic downtown Jefferson
City, the restaurant was an instant success. Featuring authentic
and original
northern Italian cuisine the store was a welcome addition to the
capital cities culinary eateries. Within six months it became obvious
that more room was needed.
In the spring of 1983 the neighboring restaurant, "The Brass
Rail", was purchased and extensively remodeled, increasing "Madison's Cafe" size
to 7200 square feet with seating for approximately 220, lounge seating for 40,
and two private banquet facilities. Catering for smaller groups (20-100) for
luncheon functions has become a specialty.
Over
the course of the years Madison's has continually updated the aesthetics
of the restaurants interior. While maintaining an excellent reputation
for quality cuisine and outstanding service, the menu is continually expanding
and now includes many standard American dishes with additional eclectic
entrees being featured seasonally. An
outdoor patio area was completed in
the fall of 2002 and is now a lively area for outside dining. Located
in the heart of Jefferson City, 1/2 block south of the governors mansion,
Madison's Cafe', a Jefferson City tradition since 1982.
